This contest is organized jointly by Desjardins General Insurance Inc. (DGI) and Operation Red Nose (ORN). It runs from November 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 at 11:59 p.m.
Eligibility

To be eligible for the draw, entrants must:

Volunteer for the 26th annual ORN campaign, which runs from December 4 to 31, 2009, and
-
Fill out an application form on the ORN website at www.operationrednose.com no later than December 31, 2009 at 11:59 p.m.

One entry per person will be eligible for the draw. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the draw. No purchase required. The contest is open to Quebec residents only, even though ORN also operates in other Canadian provinces.
Prize

One prize: a Vipass1 gift certificate amounting to $2,500. The gift certificate is valid for an 12-month period from the date of the draw.

The electronic draw for the prize will be held at ORN’s head office, at 2539 rue Marie-Fitzbach, Maison Couillard, Université Laval in Quebec City, at 10 a.m. on January 20, 2010 from all entries received between November 1 and December 31, 2009.

The winner must meet all the conditions in these rules and be reached by telephone within 15 business days of the draw, failing which the contest organizers will randomly select another entry. This selection will proceed in the same manner as stipulated in paragraph 5 of these rules, with the exception of the date, which cannot be the same.

The odds of winning depend on the number of “volunteer” entries in the database on the date of the draw. The prize must be accepted as is and cannot be exchanged for cash or another prize. Furthermore, prize cannot be transferred to another person.

The name of the winner will be announced on ORN’s website (www.operationrednose.com) in February 2010.
Special conditions regarding the gift certificate

To claim the prize, the winner must correctly answer a timed mathematical skill-testing question over the phone. The regional ORN manager will verify that the entrant acted as a volunteer during the contest period. A document describing the prize and the procedure for claiming it will then be mailed to the winners.

A letter confirming the gift certificate prize and a Declaration and Release of Liability form will be sent to the winner by registered mail in the days following the draw. The winners must return the Declaration and Release of Liability form to DGI within two (2) weeks of receipt.

After receiving the signed Declaration and Release of Liability form, DGI will purchase the gift certificate from Vipass. The $2,500 gift certificate will be sent by registered mail in the six (6) weeks following the draw, as stipulated in paragraph 5 of these rules.

All entrants in this contest release the organizers, their subsidiaries and partners from any liability for damage that may result from entering the contest or accepting or using the prize, should the person be declared a winner. All entrants acknowledge that upon receipt of the gift certificate, all obligations related to this gift certificate become the complete and exclusive responsibility of the company that issued the gift certificate.

Desjardins General Insurance and those on whose behalf this contest is being held cannot be held liable for any lost, misplaced or late contest entries submitted online or for any technical problem or breakdown during the entry period that could affect the operation of ORN’s website, network, online computer systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment or software.

If the winner is unable to use the prize in part or in full, no monetary compensation or exchange will be possible, and the prize or portion of the prize will be cancelled.

The winner must consent to the use of his or her name, place of residence, photograph, voice and any declarations concerning the prize in contest-related advertising, without compensation.

If the contest organizers are unable to award the prizes as described in these rules, they reserve the right to award replacement prizes of their choice.

All decisions made by the contest organizers are final and cannot be appealed.

The contest organizers reserve the right to change the contest conditions or to terminate the contest at any time whatsoever without notice.

Employees and representative of Desjardins General Insurance Group and employees of Operation Red Nose workers (because they are co-organizers) who volunteer for ORN 2009, and persons with whom they reside, are not eligible to enter this contest.

Any disagreement regarding the organization or managing of the advertisement contest may be submitted to la Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux. A disagreement regarding the attribution of the prize may only be submitted to la Régie in order to obtain a ruling.

A French version of the official rules is also available if requested. In case of a difference between the two versions, the French version will prevail.

This contest is subject to all applicable laws.
