Windshield Damage
A Few Prevention Tips
Although it may seem difficult to prevent cracks that form on windshields, a few simple preventive measures can help reduce the risk.
- Reduce your speed. The risk of a small rock hitting your windshield increases with speed.
- Keep your distance. This will lower the risk of rocks thrown up by other vehicles from reaching your car.
- Examine your windshield regularly. If your windshield has a chip, have it repaired as soon as possible no matter how small it is. This will prevent the crack from expanding and the windshield from shattering at the slightest impact. If you act quickly, you may be able to avoid having to replace your windshield, and, as a result, having to pay your deductible.
